About Me

Hi there!

My name is Alice, and lately I have been reading many food blogs, healthy food blogs, and frugality blogs, and decided I needed to start my own to share my own adventures!

A short introduction to me: I am a work at home mother to an infant born in 2012. I work as a web developer here. Many people waste money on things that don’t need the money wasted. Honestly, even if you’re rolling in the money, wasting it on trivial things that don’t deserve it still takes away from the money you could spend on more important things, even if they are just fun things like vacations.

I have been married to my husband since August 2009, and in May 2010 we purchased our first home, in Knoxville, Tennessee. I blog about our garden, my cooking, our food preservation, and occasionally the other measures that we take to be frugal. I will occasionally blog about things we do for our infant son, and I am *only* SEMI-crunchy, contrary to some beliefs. We breastfeed, cloth diaper, and try to make as many homemade items as we can. However we ARE vaccinating, not planning on homeschooling, not vegetarian, and did have an emergency C-section for delivery.

I am currently (2013) recovering from my high risk pregnancy of last year, and working to lose the baby weight. I currently eat very healthy, and have been actively losing weight aiming to be in the best shape of my life. This complicates my food preparation, because my husband has drastically different nutritional needs, requiring triple my current calorie intake and double my intake when I maintain weight. So, you will see recipes that adapt well for a larger family, especially for those times when I need one serving and he will need more.

That’s probably all you need to know, and you’ll probably learn a lot about us, or at least our food habits, over the course of time to come!
